Denied??

I applied for a credit card with your company’s s notifies by mail I was approved. Then I received an email couple days ago saying my credit card was coming. Today I received a letter saying I wasn’t approved because,”You were approved for a credit card of this type in the past 12 months”, which is untrue. I haven’t applied for a credit card in a few years. Why was I approved one minute and then not the next? Darcy Curtis

Wondering why I still receive reminders to log in

I am extremely frustrated because I don't understand why I keep getting emails to fill out the paperwork for a checking account. I did already and somehow got denied for an account. Its very annoying!

Awful bank promotes 0 percent offers for credit card balance transfers and then tells you the offer is no longer available! Dont even bother getting this card as they don’t honor their offers and then tell you to close your account and apply again!!! ZERO STARS and the the people that answer the phones are awful

Opened Advantage account with 10k and account got locked up

Opened Advantage account for $375 promotion offer with 10k and account got locked up, and never get resolved over the phone nor in local banking center. every time when I call about the issue I either waiting on hold hours and hours after submit my account information in automated service or transfered department to department and lost call after many hours on the phone.

Been trying for almost 3 month now to get a lien release letter from this bank. Bought a bike in 2005 paid it of , but never received the title.

This bank conveniently did not notify the DMV of this transaction. Now 15 years later I tried to sell the bike only to find out at the DMV that it still had a lien on it from Hsbc bank nevada etc.etc. Now it turns out that nobody has kept any records for any trans actions over 15 years, including myself. Now trying get a lien release letter from these guys is basically impossible because that account has been sold several times to several different institutions and is now Owned By Capital one who sold it to power sports portfolio and that's where it got stuck for ever I guess.

Still waiting for a response from the latter. Wish me luck.

Misleading credit card promo

Mail promo says 0% introductory APR. Turns out on another line, it is only on balance transfers - not on purchases. I called customer service and said I was fooled and that I would happily pay the $3,000 + charged and close the card. They would not do that. I was asked to call Barbara Janese - VP of Customer Relations. I called 11 times and always got a recording with no call back. I filled two complaints with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Advice: Don't use an HSBC credit card! They keep charging me interest and late fees. Horror Story!

Crap Credit Card

Went to pay for car repair with credit card and it was declined. I had $4,000 credit limit. So I called and was on hold for over an hour, I was told they put a block on my card until I sent them info, which I did. Never heard back. This a scam card. Run as fast as you can from them. They are located in Malaysia.

UPDATE: I since applied for 2 other CC without any problems (including NOT unfreezing my credit) and both were approved without any additional information!

I applied for a HSBC credit card. I unfroze my credit. I received this email:
"Thank you for your application. We need to obtain the following information from you in order to continue to process your application.
Please provide the following:
Completed SSA89 Form (attached) – The signature and date field must be handwritten for the document to be valid.
Proof of address – acceptable forms are: lease agreement, paystub, utility bill, tuition bill, SSA benefits letter, INS notice of action and Embassy letter (cell phone bills are not acceptable).
Proof of Identification - acceptable forms of proof of identification are: a valid current Driver’s License or passport."
NOTE: They asked for "valid current Driver's License or passport" I sent all required documents (SSA89 form, utility bill, and my passport). I was turned down because they could not verify me. This is from the next email they sent:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to approve your application, because we are unable to verify your identity. "
I called and because I sent a copy of my passport and not my driver's license, I was turned down.
They do not know what the word "or" means. It they wanted a copy of my driver's license, they should ask me for a copy of my driver's license and NOT ask for my "driver's license OR passport".
I think I have more than proven my identity and if they wanted my driver's license, the email should have ask for that.

Only way to contact them is phone or online customer service, or visit branch. Customer service is a joke. Okay to use call center in India but damn, someone should train them first. If their only solution is to visit branch and nearest branch is 10 hours away you have a problem. Tried dealing with them for two days, part of my life I will never get back, along with the $50 paid to my bank to stop their stupidity....
